Just like all the other duplication methods you must use dogmeat to copy the materials. Lay the resources down on the ground and command the dog to pick them up. Before he does though pick it up yourself while he is lowering his head, forcing the dog to create copy.
Now lay the original resource down on the ground and open up the build menu. From here scrap both items and head over to your work station to show twice as many materials as you started with.
